RVW

RVW

A 4-week immersive program equipping participants to enter communities with humility, listen to stories, record spoken language faithfully, and prepare material for use in AI training and translation work. Inspired by 2 Kings 4, this workshop trains students to become “vessels” who gather oral narratives ethically and carefully, supporting communities, translation teams, and future language initiatives.

Students gain hands-on experience collecting oral narratives and Scripture retellings while learning to manage recordings, maintain metadata, and facilitate oral validation. The workshop shows how carefully collected language data can support AI tools, translation teams, and long-term preservation. By the end, participants are equipped to bridge communities, translation work, and technology, ensuring language and meaning continue to flow.

[ Language That Lasts ]

Serving communities through faithful language collection

The Ready Vessels Workshop trains participants to collect spoken language faithfully and ethically, so it can serve communities and long-term translation work. Inspired by 2 Kings 4, it focuses on preparing people to become “vessels” who gather oral stories, Scripture retellings, and everyday speech in ways that are natural and useful for future work.

Participants gain hands-on skills in recording clear audio, managing noise, using data tools, and maintaining consistent metadata, while learning how careful data collection supports both human teams and AI tools. The goal is not finished translations, but faithful collection so language and meaning can continue to flow.
