YWAM Heidebeek mobilizes (primarily young) people for missions and evangelism. The organization equips them for the Great Commission (Matthew 28:19) through training programs, seminars, evangelism outreaches, youth weekends and mission trips.Heidebeek, a former sanatorium, was purchased in 1975 by YWAM and has been used since then as a center for discipleship and training.

YWAM Heidebeek was pioneered in the 1970s by Floyd McClung and a team of passionate missionaries who first established the YWAM Amsterdam base in Amsterdam. As their vision expanded, Heidebeek became a key location for equipping and sending out missionaries, continuing the legacy of bold faith and innovation.

The first Discipleship Training School (DTS) was launched in 1977 and currently there are 3 to 4 DTS’s offered annually at Heidebeek.  In addition to the students and participants there are around 100 staff active at the base. As Heidebeek continues to develop new means of training and mobilizing, there are plans for new facilities and buildings to be constructed on the property.

YWAM Heidebeek has a partnership with YWAM in Indonesia for the purpose of reaching the unreached with the Gospel.  Heidebeek also offers support to many other missionaries on foreign fields through our member care ministry.
