What is a Discipleship Training School (DTS)?

A Discipleship Training School (DTS) is YWAM's foundational course — a lecture phase of Bible teaching followed by a practical outreach — and it is the starting point for everyone who joins YWAM Heidebeek.

A Discipleship Training School (DTS) is the foundational course of Youth With A Mission and the entry point to YWAM Heidebeek. It combines learning and doing, and is open to adults who want to grow in their faith and serve others.

The two phases of a DTS

A DTS has two parts. During the lecture phase, students live in community and learn from teachers on topics such as the character of God, identity, hearing God's voice, and relationships. During the outreach phase, students put what they've learned into practice on a mission trip, often abroad.

Who is a DTS for?

A DTS is designed for people (usually 18 and older) from any church background who want a season of discipleship, community, and mission. No previous Bible school is required.

YWAM Heidebeek runs a DTS several times a year. You can explore dates and apply on the courses page.
