Did you know that what you experience as a child can affect your whole life?
This scares me! Thinking of all the dark in this world and thinking of all the parents not being good parents. See you can be rich or poor BUT that mustn’t affect you parenting.
After my Children at Risk (CAR) school I wanted to save every child in this world. I wanted every child to have a wonderful home.
With anger and thought I went to Uganda to staff a DTS were I met a very good friend from America. Her childhood story was no fairytale, yet she is serving God in the most amazing way and so mature. I couldn’t believe her story when she told me. God showed me how He can redeem the brokenness. He can become the missing father or mother.
Even though I know she is still processing her childhood, she had people who helped and supported her and those people who helped her- that is who I want to be.
I thank CAR school for opening me up, to show me how to take this burden and give it to God. Jessica Hare was one of our staff and she taught on the topic Celebrating Children, she said: ”It’s not my right to carry the burden of the darkness.” Man!, it has helped me to remember Jesus already died on the cross we need to be the helping hand, not the one carrying the burden. The darkness is taken care of, now we need to bring heaven to earth.
I still cry out to God and sometimes I still get angry but now I know what to do- give it to God. Everything! -Isaiah 54:13 “All your children will be taught by the Lord, and great will be their peace.”
It’s also a hands on school and I loved it, being a practical person who cannot sit still.
I took little children on hikes and showed them how to climb rocks in Uganda. I got so exited seeing them grow in their confidence, school work, socially, health, coordination…and that every afternoon climbing rock affected other aspects of being a child. My favorite thing to do was sitting on the rocks and listening to their fantasy. Rocks became ships, beds, kitchens, cars…
I would have never realized how important this action was if it wasn’t for CAR school. So go do this school and find out way this is so important.
This may be called Children at Risk school but trust me if I say it affects everyone. Maybe it needs to be called Humans at Risk because all of us were children. I used my CAR school knowledge so many times with grow ups. Like I said your childhood affects your future. I helped the people I was working with in Uganda, by going back to their childhood to find out where their problems started and to heal that specific hurt. These men and women become free and it was beautiful seeing people be healed.
CAR school also made me a softer person. I’m called to righteousness. And this can be reflected so badly if it is not done in a Godly way. CAR school helped me fight for it in a more beautiful and softer way. I’m still learning how to do it better. – Ecclesiastes 7:16 “Do not be overrighteous, neither overwise- why destroy yourself?
The last week of CAR we had to plan our own project. This exercise pushed me to think what I wanted to do in the future and how I can take a dream or what God is doing in my heart and make it reality. There is something in writing your visions, dreams and heart down and seeing it in front of your eyes. – Habakkuk 2:2 “Then the Lord replied: “Write down the revelation and make it plain on tablets so that a herald may run with it”
I enjoyed doing my journal it was time for opening my heart on paper and being creative.
I’m still learning the things I heard in CAR school. The CAR school is a very good platform to build on. The knowledge prepared me for what I was doing and what I will be doing. I walked away with a desire to know more, I became hungrier for God word.
If you want to be a mother, know the value of children, become an advocate, learn how to start a project, become a social worker or just be part of a family, do this school!

This day I shared the Gospel by drawing pictures in the sand.
You become creative if you do not have toys.
