On completion of all units of this course you will obtain a Certificate in Discipleship (DSP 211 / 212) from the University of the Nations.
The Discipleship Training School (YWAM-DTS) is a six-month training experience with the central purpose of knowing God and making Him known. It’s an intense, full-time training broken down into two parts, the lecture and outreach phase. It is your first step into missions.
The Lecture Phase is twelve weeks which provide you with the opportunity to grow and learn in many ways. It includes class lectures, small group discussions, assignments, worship and prayer times, evangelism, community life, practical work duties and much more. Speakers from the Netherlands and from abroad will encourage and challenge you to deepen your roots in God through their teaching and testimony.

For the Outreach Phase you will go cross culturally to another country in order to put what you’ve learned into practice. This includes sharing the Gospel through teaching and conversations, drama, sports, practical service and acts of mercy. Outreach is sharing Jesus with people from a country you’ve probably never been to before.
The country with the largest Muslim population in the world and with a huge contrast between rich and poor. In Indonesia we have the opportunity to reach out to those in need, to strengthen the Christians there and to share Gods love with people who do not know Him yet.
We will reach out to the women working in prostitution and share the light of hope with them. women in the bars across the city to tell about the opportunity to change their lives and to share the love of God with them.
I was struggling for a long time with the injustice on earth and which part God takes in it. During the DTS I got a new perspective of God’s goodness and his heart for the people. I didn’t get the answers to all my questions, but I got even more: Gods plan for my life and how he wants to use me in and for this world.

After I’ve seen heart breaking poverty in Tanzania, Uganda and South Africa before, God confirmed several times during my DTS that He want’s to use me to fight injustice. When I was younger I had no dreams. Now God has given me a dream and the vision to fight injustice in the clothing industry. Fight for those who cannot fight for themselves. Proverbs 31:8,9
